Overview:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist assists physicians in the treatment of patients with conditions affecting the cardiopulmonary system. Acts as an advance resource person for all other staff. Functions within the scope of respiratory care established guidelines of the Missouri Board of Respiratory Care. Performs duties in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must be graduate of COARC/AARC/NBRC approved Respiratory Therapy program.
- Licensure: Must hold a Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the Missouri Board of Respiratory Care.
- Certifications:
- Must be registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- ACLS, BLS, NRP OR PEARS (American Heart Association).
- Other skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Working conditions, mental and physical requirements: Must be able to work differing shifts; must be able to stand or walk most of the time while on duty. Must be able to be “on call” during off duty hours.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's of Science
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience is preferred, but on the job training may be established.
- Preferred Other: General office skills to include computer experience.
