Overview:

 

Under the general direction of the assigned BCBA, BCaBA, and/or certified ESDM therapist, the RBT will provide clinical instruction and behavior reduction principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with autism and other related disorders, as well as assist in the development of materials to enhance the patient’s learning experience. The RBT will communicate with their assigned patient’s family to share progress as it occurs to promote continuity of implementation of intervention strategies. The RBT will maintain regular communication with their assigned BCBA, BCaBA, and/or certified ESDM therapist. Essential components of this position are listed below but are subject to change at the discretion of Mercy Kids Autism Therapy Services and Mercy Kids Autism Center. Qualifications:

  • Required Education:

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or related field.

    Required Certification:

    • Must hold and maintain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
    • Must hold and maintain BLS/CPR certification
    • Must hold and maintain certification in MANDT
    • Must hold NPI number for Behavior Technician
    • Must hold and maintain Tricare certification
    • Must hold and maintain Mercy credential

    Required Experience/Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of child development
    • At least 1 year of experience working with children with a diagnosis of autism
    • Experience working with children who may demonstrate aggressive behaviors

     Preferred Experience/Knowledge:

    • Experience with Verbal Behavior and Natural Environment Teaching 
    • Experience with online data collection systems
