Unit Description:

Sodexo is seeking a part time Registered Dietitian to join their dynamic team at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Memorial Hospital is a community hospital on two campuses and is part of the UCHealth System.  Memorial is a 650 bed facility with multiple specialties/services including:  Level 1 Trauma Center, critical care, oncology, cardiac, renal, general medical, stroke care and women’s services. 

 

This position is for 24-32 hours per week (minimum 24), includes some weekends and holidays.  This position will provide nutrition care and education to a variety of inpatients on all units of the hospital. Salary range: $25.00-$34.00 per hour with benefits.

 

Position will report to Clinical Nutrition Manager and ideal candidate will:

  • be a Registered Dietitian with at least one year prior experience preferred 
  • have prior experience with electronic health record charting and nutrition care process 
  • have experience in nutrition support including completing orders for parenteral and enteral nutrition and nutrition support monitoring 
  • have the ability to work well and interact with physicians/ other providers, nursing and ancillary staff, attending multidisciplinary patient care rounds daily 
  • assist with department performance improvement, participate in patient satisfaction, employee training and be a preceptor for dietitian interns 
  • work well independently and as part of a team.

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services
Key Duties
-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
