Position Summary:

Provides skilled nursing care to patients according to their individual needs and supervises associated personnel in related activities. Assists in endoscopy procedures utilizing conscious sedation and supervises non-professional personnel in this area. Assists in maintaining a safe working environment.

Reports To: Endoscopy Manager / Director of Perioperative Services

Supervises: None

Position Requirements:
Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:
  • Current California RN license.
  • Basic Life Support Skills.
  • ACLS Certification (within 1 month of hire)
  • PALS Certification (within 1 month of hire)
Education:
  • AA degree minimum
Experience:
  • 2-years experience ICU or PACU
Special Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of Endoscopy Lab procedures
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
  • Ability to assess developmental needs of patients from infancy to the elderly and to modify care appropriately.
  • Must be able to interpret pertinent findings and adapt to Endoscopy Lab setting.
  • Successful completion of Conscious Sedation Self Study Module
