Job Description

This job is responsible for assisting the CNO in assuming responsibility for the strategic vision, long term planning, direction and overall accountability for patient care services; communicates and interprets organizational and departmental missions, goals, and objectives for all areas of responsibility; and provides leadership and direction in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities. Assists the CNO in directing personnel in order to provide service to all customers. Service includes patient advocacy, while ensuring mechanisms for quality safety and compliance. Dedicated to staff competency, this job is a mentor and offers guidance to their nursing leadership team. Assists the CNO in planning and controlling the physical environment, materials, equipment and supplies to provide competitive cost effective care to patients. Coordination with executive administration and other interdisciplinary groups on policy formation, performance Improvement, information systems and risk management is an expectation. This job participates in and represents the company at community and professional activities to enhance customer service. This job is dedicated to Professional Development and training for nurses and ancillary staff at all levels of clinical employment.

Education

Required - Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or other health related focus area

Preferred - Master’s degree in Nursing


Work Experience
Required - 5 years nursing experience in a hospital setting

3 years experience in successfully managing complex hospital and patient care delivery

Experience in areas of responsibility.

Certifications

Required - Current State of Louisiana RN license

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods involved in education, orientation, evaluation and supervision.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good time management skills and self directed
  • Demonstrates good judgment and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
