Position Summary:

Assists rehabilitation therapy patients and performs restorative treatments and/or exercises under direction of Rehabilitation Department.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Prepares and treats residents in gait training and other exercises as directed by therapists
  • Secures patients into or onto therapy equipment.
  • Safeguards, motivates, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff.
  • Provides routine treatments such as hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, and paraffin bath as directed.
  • Transport patients to and from treatment area.
  • Clean work areas and equipment after treatments as directed.
  • Records treatment given and equipment used.
  • Observes and reports residents’ response to care and treatments
  • Identify & report any safety or health concerns (proper lifting, compliance with caution signs, proper use of PPE’s, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Valid state license(s)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • At least one year experience providing care and services in long term care preferred
