Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality nursing care is provided within the guidelines of established facility policies and procedures, standards of care, and state and federal regulations.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Provide restorative care and activities to residents including but not limited to: ambulation, splint/brace application, incontinence program, dining/dysphagia programs, active and passive range of motion, and activities of daily living restoration programs.
  • Transports residents or assists residents to walk as well as to/from RNA area and nursing areas as necessary.
  • Reports and performs restorative activities and tasks on residents as assigned.
  • Assist with elimination including emptying catheter bags as well as providing and sanitizing bedpans, urinals and bedside commodes.
  • Maintain an integrated approach toward person centered care by defining purposeful person centered RNA activities through team approach, attends assigned team meetings and care plan conferences.
  • Monitor and keep track of changes in residents under restorative nursing care.
  • Implement individualized restorative nursing program activities, suggest new activities and changes to meet resident individual needs.
  • Interact well with residents, families, providers, nurses, and therapists and implements individual programs as developed, maintains a professional attitude.
  • Supports both resident and facility goals and objectives; including but not limited to those involved in abuse/neglect prevention and reporting, infection prevention, and Emergency Management. Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.
  • Communicates thoroughly and in detail regarding all patient and resident subjects, both verbally and in writing.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis. Performs other CNA care responsibilities and duties as requested and/or assigned.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Arizona State Board of Nursing certification as a Nursing Assistant in good standing.
  • 1 year experience as a CNA
  • Current and continuing BLS training and certification
  • Has attended or willing to attend specialized education for Restorative Nursing Aide training and pass any required exams
  • DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
