Overview:

As Business Planning Manager, you will integrate across Sales, Business Development, and Brand in leading annual plan management for assigned brands in our Grocery portfolio. Develop prioritized specific sales goals, information, and programs to translate into growth plans for field sales execution. Coordinate with Brand to develop, prioritize, and deliver plans consistent with long-range goals. Communicate insights and category growth goals, and lead the field in the delivery of annual volume, trade, and profit plans for your assigned brands. You will report to a Director of Business Planning.

You Will:

  • Achieve the Annual Plan: Manage brand-specific strategy to ensure delivery of the annual volume, trade, and profit plan (nationally, channel-specific, and Joint Business Planning).
  • Voice of the Customer: Advocate and represent the customer point of view internally. Serve customer teams by securing internal agreement on efforts to succeed with the customer and accomplish Brand strategies. Serve Brand teams by providing the voice of the customer and integrating Brand strategies into customer business plans.
  • Set the Agenda: Manage brand specific agenda and prioritization of projects. Help develop Customer level distribution and merchandising targets with supporting insights and merchandising activation plans for each initiative. Partner with Field Sales to achieve Brand merchandising, assortment, pricing and shelving (MAPS) goals.
  • Arm the Field Sales Teams with Insights and Tools to Sell: Manage activation of insights-oriented strategies (e.g. category, shopper) for national and customer-specific levels. Help develop category growth goals, stories and new item presentations, organize presentation and communication of key initiatives sell-in, develop compelling sales materials, and occasionally influence customers on sales calls. Analyze and summarize results of projects, recommend and make adjustments.
  • Help with Joint Business Planning(JBP): Be a liaison between Customer Sales and Brand Teams to help implement JBP customer plans. Provide Brand teams ongoing visibility to JBP programs through a common process to include prioritization of customer-specific requests and monitoring brand trends at account level for performance intervention.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years CPG sales or related experience
  • Experience managing strategic and tactical trade plans
  • Experience with trade spending principles
  • P&L management exposure
  • Experience influencing leaders across the organization
  • Involvement with customer annual planning process
  • Experience with important retailer practices
  • Matrix management and project management experience
