Sales Manager – Motion control

One of the world’s largest manufacturers of high performance linear motion systems seeks a Sales Manager to join its team. You will be representing one of the best manufactures offering an extensive line of both linear motion components and mechatronic solutions leading a team of Sales People in IN, OH and MI. With a goal of supplying superior quality at the most competitive prices, the company offers a variety products and equipment serving the automation market.

You will work with a highly respected manufacturer in the mechatronics industry that is experiencing high growth in the industry increasing market share.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Achieves territory penetration, growth, and sales goals by coaching sales staff to identify and secure new accounts by defending, retaining, and increasing the profitable penetration of existing accounts.
  2. Identifies market, competitive, and segment issues and opportunities. Assists in the formulation of a business plan and introduces sales initiatives that address or capitalize on situations and opportunities. Recommends effective strategies for conversion.
  3. Maintains effective oral and written communications to inform executive management on the status of accounts, segment plans, and programs in process; changing conditions, attitudes and requirements within the marketplace; competitive activities; and on unusual problems or accomplishments which might affect business results.
  4. Maintains professional relationships with key personnel to foster trust and influence opportunities.
  5. Acquires knowledge of users and distribution personnel to preserve existing business and enhance the introduction of new products. Establishes and maintains effective records to enhance planning and follow-up activities.
  6. Provides performance and career development feedback. Takes action to address areas of improvement or enhance strengths.
  7. Supports goals through the collection and communication of information related to competitive manufacturers, products, sales personnel, practices, and the major accounts they manage.
  8. Performs management functions, including but not limited to, employment, termination, and performance and compensation evaluations.

Required Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or STEM field
  2. 5+ years sales experience, preferably in the linear motion product and technology industry
  3. 3+ years progressive sales management experience
