Job Description

• Newly created role to help the nearly 30 U.S. divisions manage the sales tax process. Sales tax gets done at the division level and then reported up to Corporate.
• Tax department is six total. This role reports to VP of Tax
• The position is located in Elgin Illinois, and we have a 3/2 work schedule (3 days in office and 2 days work from home).
• Position will be primarily focused on sales taxes and secondarily on state taxes, including state tax credits, payroll related tax credits, non-income tax state filings, income tax audits and responding to notices.
• Sales tax function is currently decentralized, and we need an experienced person to help oversee.

Preferred Experience

• Firsthand experience with sales tax software implementations (Avalara preferred)
• Strong sales tax research and communication skills to help advise our businesses
• Ability to developing best practice sales tax processes and help roll out our businesses
• Ability to work independently
• Experience managing sales tax audits and filing VDAs (Voluntary Disclosure Agreement)
• Strong Excel and financial system skills
• Other tax experience is a plus
