Senior Sanitation Supervisor

Job Summary: The Senior Sanitation Supervisor/Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for the leadership of sanitation team members, procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production. 

Essential Functions:

  • Empowers team members: Will empower team members through leadership and supervision, training, and feedback opportunities, to meet and exceed expectations for productivity, quality assurance, waste management and food/personal safety. Leads the performance appraisal and progressive, corrective action steps to promote positive and safe teamwork environments.
  • Ensures compliance of company policies and procedures: Safety regulations, GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP and SQF.
  • Coordinates and guides team members: Will provide training on a variety of situations including startups, shutdowns, preoperational inspections, product changeovers, change management concerns and sanitation.
  • Sr. Sanitation Supervisor - Provides back-up support: Fills in for the sanitation manager during absences and for sanitation supervisors as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Sr. Sanitation Supervisor: Demonstrated six years supervisory or leadership skills in a USDA regulated facility leading a sanitation team OR a bachelor’s degree and three years of supervisory or leadership experience in a USDA regulated facility leading a sanitation team.
  • Sanitation Supervisor: Demonstrated three years supervisory or leadership skills in a USDA regulated facility leading a sanitation team OR a bachelor’s degree with a prior Food Science (or closely related) internship.
  • Demonstrated expertise and competence in sanitation/production processes; ability to supervise multiple departments/processes at once.
  • Working knowledge of industrial sanitation chemicals usage and applications.
  • Working knowledge of USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment and the ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional oral and written communication, a team-focused approach and the ability to model composure/make decisions in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in poultry science, food science, biological sciences, or closely related field
  • Prior experience in a poultry facility
  • Prior experience with SAP or Infinity
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of general First Aid and CPR
