Summary of Role\:

Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated Logistics Section Manager to become part of our state of the art 300mm factory in Malta, New York. The candidate will be responsible for tactical leadership, direction, and supervision of a team that safely and efficiently process logistics services, while developing and implementing strategies to improve service levels and improve efficiency throughout the organization. The Logistics Section Manager position is a night shift position, working either 12-hour or 8-hour shifts.

Essential Responsibilities include\:

  • Adhere to established EHS standards and proactively identify opportunities for improvement to promote a safe work environment
  • Establish and execute budgets in cooperation with Manager. Implement and monitor planned financial measures/expenditures within his/her field of delegation
  • Perform detailed capacity planning for the assigned team (including workforce planning)
  • Establish a work environment characterized by mutual trust and respect, open and honest communications, teamwork and a passion for winning
  • Monitor deadlines, quality and activities performed within the field of responsibility.
  • In the event of discrepancies between target and actual, initiate corresponding quality-oriented countermeasures and inform Manager
  • Lead, motivate and develop subordinate employees in accordance with the organization's management guidelines
  • Coordinate staffing decisions in cooperation with Human Resources Department and responsible Manager
  • Ensure compliance with work time regulations
  • Create qualifications and target agreements/goals for his/her employees upon agreement with the responsible Manager
  • Conduct employee appraisals and discuss operational targets and goals with his/her subordinates
  • Coordinate customer orders and provide revisions on schedule changes
  • Responsible for the employee training program and its administration
  • Propose continuous improvement of flows and processes
  • Coordinate department maintenance including building, vehicles and equipment
  • Fill in as needed with the daily Fab/distribution operation
  • Trigger work orders based on priority and assign work to staff
  • Ensure housekeeping and general order within scope of responsibility
  • Take inventory and cycle count according to stock policy
  • Examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify; complete paperwork or forms required for documentation
  • Determine method of shipment optimizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Ensure documentation is compliant in collaboration with logistics and trade specialist
  • Order, purchase and recommend additions or deletions to standard stock items.
  • Define and perform within standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Qualification:

Required Qualifications\:

  • BS degree in Business Management or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
  • Proficient Computer skills in Microsoft and ERP systems
  • Proven ability and experience managing 5 to 10 employees effectively with a fair and honest approach
  • Strong leadership, management, coaching and organizational skills
  • A self-starter with ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger team
  • Sufficient written communication skills to communicate with management/co-workers and maintain accurate and complete records and daily logs
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, manuals and operations specifications
  • Strong problem solver and planner with organizational and analytical ability
  • Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities
  • Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team
  • 5-10% global travel required

Preferred Qualifications\:

  • Basic knowledge of import-export regulations 
  • Degree concentration Logistics
  • Hands on experience with Oracle ERP system
  • Familiarity with Lean processes & activities and Kaizen teams
  • Strong preference given to Semiconductor experience
