What you get to do:
As we recently launched apps for each of our brands, we need your help to take them to the next level! We’ve proven out our V0 ecommerce and experiential value props and are looking for talented browser UI engineers to help us build out and optimize the rest of our ecommerce flows, and some novel digital guest experiences as well. You will:
- Report to the Director of Mobile Engineering and be part of a team that is responsible for digital guest interactions, from website funnel optimization to our new mobile applications.
- Be a key player on our web-based ecommerce flows, learning the codebase, building new features, and supporting our data-driven decision-making by putting metrics on everything, and implementing A/B tests when appropriate.
- Take responsibility for driving the React side of the shop to production on an ongoing basis.
- Work with a team of ecommerce, user experience, and software development veterans from eBay, Walmart, and Google, who have coalesced around a mission to build the best digital experience in the theme park business.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
- You have 5-10 years of experience shipping mobile apps to hundreds or tens of thousands of daily users. Come prepared to share stories about outages.
- Experience with Typescript, React, Next.js, JAM stack architecture.
- You’re enthusiastic about user experience (you build React applications, after all), and opinionated about what makes for good and bad experiences.
- You may focus on web experiences, but you may also have experience in Android or iOS as well.
- We are explicitly looking for “T” shaped engineers with shallow experience broadly, and deep experience narrowly.
- We value curiosity, intellectual horsepower, and a commitment to shipping software and tending to apps in production.
- You write concise, accurate emails, that are appropriately technical for the expected audience. You write design documents that clearly articulate the engineering problem, and how your solutions address it.
- You level up your peers through code review. You interview with compassion and an eye to mitigating your own biases.
- 5+ years writing and deploying code to production systems.
- Broad React experience.
- Exposure to other JS UI frameworks (Angular, Vue, Elm).
- Experience and confidence in writing unit tests, and the judgement to know when not to.
The perks of the position:
As part of the SeaWorld family, you’ll enjoy a fun, fast-paced environment, and great teammates, as well as:
- Paid Floating Holidays
- Unlimited flexible Paid Time Off
- SEA Employee Complimentary Park Tickets and Passes
- SEA Park Discounts on Food and Merchandise
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
- 401K plan
- Voluntary Insurance
- Life Insurance
- Disability Benefits
- Dependent and Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts
- Employee Assistance Program
- Legal Assistance Plan
