The Senior Billing Specialist will be responsible for accurate and timely calculation, processing, recording and collections of large client billing. The Senior Billing Specialist will also be responsible for preparing, reconciling and submitting invoices in an efficient manner. Work is subject to review through observation of efficiency, timeliness, effectiveness, and accuracy. Must be able to function independently within policies and procedures. Proven ability to delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports.
Essential Functions
- Oversee billing and collection function for a portfolio of assigned accounts to ensure the timely and accurate processing of customer invoices and any adjustments
- Analyze and resolve billing issues to improve billing integrity
- Serves customers by evaluating customer disputes regarding charges; providing explanations. Prepares billing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
- Oversee record keeping and updating of eRecruit records to ensure accurate billing
- Prepare and review various billing analyses and reconciliations, identify potential issues, recommend and implement process improvement
- Perform daily management of Advanced Clinical Team mailbox, responding to internal and external emails within 48 hours of receipt
- Reviews contracts and modifications to understand contractual billing requirements and ensures invoices are in compliance with the contract terms
- Financial tracking, monitoring and reporting on Purchase Orders
- Collaborates with Operations, Accounting and Account Managers, as needed, to ensure the most efficient billing processes are established and followed
- Build strong relationships across the organization
- Serve as the billing subject matter expert for billing setup
- Participation in Ad-hoc projects – reporting, process improvement, reconciliations, etc.
- Develop, and facilitate training for onboarding new hires
- Assist as QA Tester for new software systems to ensure it meets all billing standards and guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor Level Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 - 10 years of previous experience in billing management or accounting experience
- Ability to prioritize work assignments, multi-task, and maintain effective time management in performing all assigned tasks
- Critical thinker with strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively
- Professional demeanor and mature attitude
- Ability to adjust smoothly and be flexible to changes in job responsibilities
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities while dealing with continuous interruptions
- Ability to take detailed instructions and follow them to completion
- Team oriented personality
- High work ethic – ability to give extra effort when needed
- Ability to work under demanding deadlines
- Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and ability to compile lots of data into meaningful reporting
- Preferred experience in eRecruit
- Preferred experience in Great Plains
