Job Summary

This Senior Control Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary group of engineers, designers, and drafters providing technical services to public and private sector clients. They will work on industrial applications related to process manufacturing, aerospace, chemical processing, and municipalities.

The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and self-motivated with a passion in Instrumentation and Controls. Bring your advanced engineering knowledge and strong skills in mentorship, management, delegation, leadership on automation projects, and coordination with other engineering disciplines to this exciting role!

The Responsibilities

  • Directing control systems testing, equipment commissioning, field testing and system acceptance including operational readiness testing.
  • Setting up industrial communication protocols and VFD configuration.
  • PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA system planning, designing, programming, and upgrading.
  • Developing drawings and specifications for construction including network communication block diagrams, control panel details, wiring termination diagrams, instrument location plans, and instrument installation details.
  • Equipment selecting, cost estimating, and equipment layout.
  • On-call (after hours and weekends) support of major public infrastructure and transportation.

The Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and 10+ years of experience in PLC programming and HMI or SCADA configuration, with 1 year of field experience. In lieu of a college degree, additional experience will be considered.

  • Working knowledge of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and motor control schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability using Ethernet and control system communication protocols.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Wonderware, and similar PLC/HMI software.
  • Travel up to 25% of the year may be required.
  • A registered professional engineer is preferred.
