SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST | Position Overview & Benefits

Our client is a brand leader in the consumer goods industry and looking for a Senior Financial Analyst with manufacturing experience. Consumer goods background is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Financial Analyst will take an active role in the manufacturing financial and operational reporting process. Among their responsibilities, the Sr. Financial Analyst will perform month end close duties, monthly reporting, ad hoc analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist and prepare annual budget and monthly forecast
    • Build bottoms up budget and forecast models
    • Develop cost of material models that incorporate trends, expected product mix and pricing changes by location
    • Work with corporate on occupancy models to ensure proper estimates
    • Develop all other operating cost models to ensure accuracy
    • Load forecast and budget into Essbase
    • Work w/ Inventory team to create basic business reports.
    • Prepare and distribute budget and forecast p/ls
  • Monthly close activities
    • Research variances versus budget, forecast and prior year
    • Recommend and prepare journal entries (i.e. accruals, deferrals, reclasses)
    • Prepare and distribute company-level p/ls, building p/ls, departmental actuals vs forecast
  • Assist with profitability analysis on business changes (i.e. price increases, wage rates, efficiencies, expansion, etc.)
  • Assist the overall team with product profitability reviews and analysis at the collection and product level
  • Analyze and document recurring expenses such as maintenance service agreements, supplies, etc. to develop an understanding and identify cost saving opportunities
  • Prepare weekly and monthly scorecard for distribution to management
  • Assist in reporting and analysis on business issues (i.e. root cause analysis, failed scans, days to receive, inventory turns, etc.)
  • Prepare weekly labor reporting to management
  • Develop SOPs, work instructions and process flows charts around critical operational processes with financial impact
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting as needed for executive leadership

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with accounting and ERP software, SQL, and Power BI
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address issues in collaboration with others as appropriate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and produce reports to assist operations
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
