How you will impact Ingevity:
Ingevity is seeking a confident, self-motivated financial analyst for its operations group. This is a vitally important position within a dynamic business. It is also a position that offers promising opportunity for professional growth and career advancement.
In this role, you will be depended on for a full scope of financial analysis and cost accounting responsibilities. You will be involved in all areas of financial analysis in support of business planning and financial forecasting. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the Plant Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. You will support and often lead financial analysis for special projects, product costing, annual planning, cost reporting and review of variance accounts. This is a “hands on” role for someone who works well with all levels of employees. You must be comfortable working collaboratively in a high-performance production culture and also adept at driving improvements within our existing systems and functions.

- Execute standard cost calculations for production facilities, working directly with plant teams and master data coordinators ensuring integrity of bills of materials, receipts and standard costs.
- Perform daily production confirmation SAP inputs and related reconciliations.
- Execute month-end closing processes to include SAP process order reconciliation, inventory reconciliation, analysis of variance accounts, and distribution of the month end reporting package.
- Support our business’ annual budgeting process and annual standard cost rollover.
- Manage Fixed Asset SAP processes including setup, capitalizations, reviews, and other aspects of FA accounting.
- Administer local Accounts Payable Coupa system; main point of contact for questions concerning GR/IR, Blocked Invoices, and Vendor inquiries.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Support Plant Controller in carrying out responsibilities of the accounting department
- Constantly look for opportunities for improvement in financial practices (e.g. consistent SAP usage across the plant, manual tracking of some inventory, ensuring accruals are sufficient & complete, etc.) and lead efforts to implement solutions to make our processes better. This will require a high degree of initiative, an entrepreneurial mindset, and setting up a sustainable process to standardize the improvement(s).
- Support special financial analysis projects, assisting with approval for expenditure requests and other special initiatives such as capital projects, Operational Excellence, cost reviews, and Six Sigma analyses.
What you need to succeed:
- An undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting/Finance.
- A minimum of 5+ years in financial analysis experience, including financial reporting and analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment with standard costing experience.
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Work experience with a large company ERP is required, SAP preferred.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) essential.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn new programs and systems.
- Strong drive to analyze and deliver opportunities for improvement within business financial management systems.
