Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. This position is based in El Paso, TX. 

Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Plant Controller and will support the El Paso facility in the maintenance of the accounting system that ensures financial records are complete, accurate, and in compliance with company policy. This position will become a business partner to the plant controller and the operations by providing financial information on both Income Statements and Balance sheet accounts, analysis of sales, profitability, capital spending, Headcount and other required specific analysis on request.  This person will also be a key SOX compliance effort, the annual physical inventory process, and meeting all Financial Reporting requirements. The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Plant Controller.

In this function you will:

  • Perform month end closing process by preparing accurate and timely journal entries along with financial analysis of results
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. Ensure reconciliation between key financial systems and interfaces to maintain data integrity and accurate reporting.
  • Support monthly the plant controller in monthly forecasting and annual profit plan processes.
  • Own the cost out process including project tracking, financial reporting, and verification of P&L impacts
  • Own capital spend process for the plant including forecasting as well as reconciliation of CIP on the general ledger.  You will also work closely with project owners to justify investment through accurate and complete capital spend requests.  As well as maintaining an accurate fixed assets register including FA audits as necessary.
  • You will analyze financial & operational data to create financial models/reports to help drive business improvements.
  • You will ensure continued plant compliance with SOX requirements & all Eaton internal controls policies.
  • Maintain an accurate standard and current cost system. This includes working with Engineering & supply chain to ensure bill of materials and routers are accurately set up and maintained.  Own annual standard cost roll process as well as own the material price variance analysis process.
  • Provide financial direction to non-financial team members on joint endeavors such as budgeting, cost studies, inventory, etc.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three years of accounting and/or Finance experience
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business and/or Economics from an accredited institution
  • Manufacturing experience
  • CMA/CPA Certification
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience in Oracle, Microsoft Office products, various query applications
  • Proficiency in GAAP and SOX financial policies
  • Oracle, MAPICS, and Vista experience

Position Criteria:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Ability to interpret accounting theories and apply practical judgment
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Perform analysis of existing department procedures and systems and the investigation of possible improvements, while adhering to generally accepted accounting principles
