SUMMARY
The Senior M&A Analyst is responsible for providing support to the M&A Finance Team, engaging in all aspects of M&A target evaluation and financial due diligence. The individual will be expected to lead workstreams in key functional areas including, but not limited to, data analysis of sales trends (geographic, type of licensing and industry), quality of revenue, and quality of earnings. Additional responsibilities will include P&L/other key management metrics reporting, forecasting, financial modeling, valuation, and special projects as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Streamline collection and evaluation of raw data. Utilize data analysis skillset to conduct financial analysis, identify trends and/or findings and report such findings in an understandable format
  • Analyze target company information, which includes review of historical and projected financial information.
  • Perform detailed review of key financial metrics and KPIs and operating trends, highlighting potential risks which may impact valuation
  • Assist in the development of projected financial statements and operating budget for post-acquisition based on target company information and business case operating plans, including presenting projected impact on overall annual corporate operating plan and quarterly guidance
  • Build and maintain financial models, including discounted cash flow, market approach analysis and scenario analysis, to support the M&A planning and decision-making process
  • Collaborate with management, other key stakeholders, and cross-functional M&A team to provide customer data, sales performance, market statistics, competitor performance and financial understanding based on due diligence findings in a way that is meaningful to all users with varying levels of financial acumen
  • Leverage understanding of M&A target and U.S. GAAP to support Global Accounting Team with financial reporting needs for integrating businesses post-acquisition
  • Perform market analysis utilizing tools such as Pitchbook and CapIQ to maintain data on comp set multiples and comparable transactions
  • Understand the business issues that are influencing the industry, relevant applications, and competitive intelligence to drive strategic initiatives and influence decision-making
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree with a four-year college or university required
  • A minimum of 4 years of finance and/or accounting experience
  • Established analytical skill set with a proven history of financial modeling, forecasting, analysis, and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, relational and communication skills, with poise to present to senior management
  • Ability to work independently while still meeting project deadlines and commitments
  • Willingness to drive projects to completion in a complex, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work additional hours during evenings and weekends during peak periods


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline preferred
  • Professional certification such as CPA/CFA preferred
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field and/or MBA is a plus
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel through creating custom financial models and ad hoc requests, including but not limited to variance and trend analysis, chart creations, and presentation tables
  • Experience creating management-level presentations
  • Extensive usage of modern tools for data analysis
  • Highly motivated and proven ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Written/verbal fluency in other languages is a plus
