Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

What your background should look like:

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by 
marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They are the key experts in the products 
they are responsible for at TE.

In this role you will be a leading member of the design team mainly supporting Medical Product Line. Use knowledge and 
experience to efficiently complete assigned projects and tasks. Collaborate and work actively within local and global design teams. 
Seek and implement technology improvements, as well as best practices of product and process development.  

Job Responsibilities:

•    Partner with customer to determine and define design inputs, design outputs
•    Create and support the development and validation of new test method
•    Solve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions
•    Act as a key technical leader for engineering teams during key customer facing interactions. 
•    Act as an engineering mentor to engineering teams as needed. 
•    Provide clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates
•    Experience in creating risk management files, DFMEA, PFMEA
•    Responsible for engineering documentation.
•    Experience in writing protocols and reports 
•    Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and other engineers
•    Strong Knowledge of what is required for regulatory
•    Partner with cross functional team such as Process Development, New Product Introduction, and Operations groups to 
    successfully develop products.  
•    May lead innovation of new technology in medical product family.  Self-driven.

Minimum Qualifications
•    BS in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, or related engineering discipline.
•    Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years or more experience of experience OR Master’s Degree with 3 years or more experience
•    Medical device design experience preferred.
•    Strong mechanical aptitude and broad knowledge of materials. 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Ability to provide technical leadership as it relates to product and process design
•    Experience with DOEs and SPCs
•    Knowledge in process development activities with skills in process improvement techniques such as Six sigma or DFM
•    Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
•    Experience of conducting verifications and validations for medical device products and processes.
