Job Description

We Are Hiring:

Working for Ascension is more than just a job. It’s a career where your talent and passion for delivering quality healthcare can make a difference for residents, team members, and the community.

Ascension is seeking a remote Specialist, Qualitative Market and Communications Research to join the team!

In this role, you will support, and learn to manage, the complete lifecycle of qualitative market and communications research with Ascension’s wide range of external and internal stakeholders - patients, potential patients, clinicians, and non-clinical staff.

What You Will Do:

We'll teach you how to, and soon expect you to fully participate in, each of the following...

  • Background researching new issues, topics, products and services to learn the narrative landscape
  • Scheduling and conducting interviews with subject matter experts to fill in gaps and brainstorm new ideas
  • Thinking about and exploring creative sources for consumer insights
  • Designing and planning research experiments in messaging; working with internal and external partners to manage timelines and logistics
  • Writing new takes on arguments for and against various issues and actions
  • Traveling to qualitative research sessions to observe, manage logistics, and take notes
  • Participating in analysis discussions and synthesizing recommendations
  • Helping to craft presentations and other collateral explaining findings to others
  • Managing libraries of past work to create new custom deliverables, as necessary

 Complexity of Work:

  • Fascination with language, rhetoric, persuasion, and communication essential
  • Must have experience paying attention to details and managing expectations from diverse stakeholders
  • Must be able to think on the fly and ask meaningful questions that add to the team’s understanding of the task at hand
  • Must be able to change your opinion when you're wrong and argue equally well from multiple points of view
  • Must not get frustrated at the idea of being asked to do logistical legwork in addition to the creative stuff. Learning the ropes does involve some repetitive logistical tasks.
What You Will Need:

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience preferred.
Additional Preferences:

Education:

  • BA/BS with background in English, rhetoric, marketing, communications, political science, a social science or other argument- and writing-intensive field

Work Experience:

  • Must have strong writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Writing sample will be requested in interviews.
  • 1-2 years experience in marketing, communications, or research preferred but not required
  • Experience with digital/social media analytics a bonus
