Sr. Factory Operations Manager

$140-160K plus 15% bonus

Our Ames, IA manufacturing client is looking to hire a Senior Factory Operations Manager. This Manager will manage resources and priorities in order to fabricate, assemble and deliver manufacturing goods for final distribution. Interface with support organizations as necessary to deliver a timely quality product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuous drive to improve plant metrics, productivity, safety, delivery, quality and cost containment.
• Oversee the daily production operations of the plant.
• Monitors operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Provide strategic guidance to Area Leaders who are responsible for tactical implementation of production plans.
• Oversee development of production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers.
• Oversee production staff, including hiring/training of personnel. Leadership in implementing Lean Continuous Improvement actions.
• Directs plant layout and arrangement of facilities, equipment for optimization of production.
• Requires a proven background in running a manufacturing facility above just plant operations.
• Must be able to coordinate materials, quality, safety, finance, etc. in a high performance, low volume/high mix fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• A great deal of creativity and latitude is required.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years related experience is required. Requires at least 3 years experience as a Manager.
• Knowledge of best practices and procedures for managing manufacturing facilities. Requires excellent leadership and team building skills.
• Knowledgeable in fiscal control, budget forecasting, standardized metrics and achievement in performance to plan.
• Excellent decision making and creative problem solving skills.
• A steady performer under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
