Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of Environmental Health Safety (EHS) & Risk Management is responsible for ensuring environmental health and safety leadership within the Division, under the direction of the Divisional Environmental Health and Safety Director. This position will also provide EHS & Risk management leadership support for the on-site EHS & Risk Management leader. This role will need to drive EHS excellence, focusing on EHS Compliance and THS Conformance standards execution and continual improvement. This position is responsible for fostering a strong working relationship with the site leadership team(s), building and/or fortifying a safe working culture within the site and surrounding communities, and providing leadership to implement effective EHS & Risk Management programs aligned with Corporate EHS & Risk Management that enable the site to effectively identify and mitigate EHS risks, especially during periods of transition. This role will manage multidisciplinary EHS programs in accordance with federal, provincial, state, local regulations and internal standards to drive continual improvement and an incident free work environment at critical sites as well as support projects focused on enhancing THS' Environmental Health and Safety program.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and EHS&RM oversight to the site and site leadership teams
- Develop environmental compliance strategies across the enterprise to ensure compliance and conformance standards are met.
- Direct EHS&RM regulatory compliance performance and coordinate with Division EHS Directors to develop strategic solutions that will support efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on internal policies and standards and external regulation related to EHS and security initiatives to ensure compliance of all employees, equipment and the facility.
- Direct the site leadership to ensure the site success to drive towards zero environmental and employee health & safety incidents.
- Support the review and analyzation of incident data to identify trends and incident types that can be prevented.
- Participate in the THS EHS & Risk Management network (communities, conferences, audits) representing sites to develop and implement EHS programs and practices consistency throughout the organization.
- Participate in critical activities (e.g., planning, budgeting, data collection / reporting) as assigned;
- Stay current regarding applicable regulations, practices, tools, and processes and communicates changes throughout the organization.
- Complete other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum education required: B. S. in Scientific, Engineering or technical discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience and 2-5+ years of direct supervision experience.
- Trained subject matter expertise familiar with OSHA/EPA regulations
- Leadership skills, including the ability to achieve results by influencing the EHS Managers
- Outcome focused leader who is organized and able to manage large complex projects
- Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Skilled in leading strategic initiatives, planning and management of change
- Knowledgeable in OSHA's Process Safety Management and/or EPA's Risk Management Plan Standards.
- Technical EHS skills: behavior-based principles, engineering, hazard recognition, risk assessment and worker compensation administration

- Have a general understanding of production processes, equipment, systems typically found in a manufacturing environment

- Experience with environmental management information systems (EMIS) and support software (ex. Intelex, Site Hawk, ISN, or Alchemy) preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Required - Type: Engineering or Industrial Technology, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety or related
