PRIMARY PURPOSE

Performs concurrent monitoring of patients on telemetry and event monitors to assist in the early identification of cardiac arrhythmias.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education:
-Must have completed a Medical Assistant course that includes EKG OR six months experience interpreting EKG rhythm strips.

Experience:
-Must have two years telemetry experience

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:
-May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.

Skills or Special Abilities:
-Must demonstrate during interview the ability to interpret EKG rhythm strips.
-Must be able to demonstrate all telemetry related functions and complete the three day EKG course or take the challenge test with a passing grade of at least 80% within the 90 day probationary period.
