As a Sr. User Experience (UX) Designer, you have a passion for ensuring the user-viewpoint is well-represented in everything that the Residential Digital Products teams do, from discovery through development, and release.

You are a talented designer who understands big-picture concepts, grasps fundamental business and end-user requirements, enjoys diving into the details to wireframe, design, and prototype solutions. Not satisfied there, you assist in the identification and organization of usability tests to ensure your design works for our users. You are a skilled UX practitioner who can create, collaborate, and communicate user experiences to a variety of audiences. Working in an agile environment you coordinate with people across products and across disciplines, balancing business objectives, end-user goals, and technical requirements to create world-class experiences. Inherently believing that B2B experiences should be as good as consumer experiences, you hold a high bar for success and a user’s basic expectations.  You will have a key role in impacting customer and partner experiences.

To win this position, you have demonstrable experience creating user interfaces for interactive products and have the skills to move easily from minute details to broad workflow generalities. Experience with B2B commerce is highly beneficial. Visual design skills and/or user research will come in handy to ensure your designs are well received by the people in HVAC dealerships. You also have experience working with development teams, advocating for the needs of the user, building consensus, and clearly documenting the desired solution.  This role is remote but candidates must be located in CO or other states within the Mountain Time Zone Region for various business/role requirments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design the user experience of new and existing software applications and experiences.
  • Design and document clear, modern, interfaces and understandable commercial transactions.
  • Assist with researching, exploring and testing user interface designs for mobile, tablet and web-based applications.
  • Translate brand personality into digital, interactive experiences, including brand look, values and voice.
  • Collaborate in an agile environment with product owners, scrum masters, developers, testers, stakeholders, as well as, other members of the user experience team.
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns.
  • Present work to the user experience team, product team, and executives for review.
  • Ensure user experience requirements are appropriately implemented through the development process by collaborating with developers and by providing timely reviews and feedback.
  • Stay informed about user experience and design trends and user preferences.
  • Evangelize and advocate for experience design, user research, user-centered design philosophy, and best practices within the department, within Trane, and externally.
  • Work independently under general prioritization and guidance of the UX Director.

 

Specific Deliverables Include:

  • Where appropriate, contribute to persona and journey maps and other user research artifacts and activities
  • Sitemaps and flow charts
  • Wireframes
  • Design Language/Pattern Library
  • Interactive prototypes and other deliverables to aid in user research
  • Style guides and design specifications for final visual design (as needed beyond Design System artifacts)
  • Presentations with various levels of design information for a variety of audiences 

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction or a related field.
  • 5+ years in a user experience or interactive design role for web and mobile experiences in an agile environment
  • Solid experience with Figma, Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Omnigraffle, or other wireframing tools
  • A strong portfolio of user experience work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

 

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Experience designing and measuring the effectiveness of B2B e-commerce experiences
  • Ability to facilitate design studios and design sprints
  • Strong presentation skills, including preparing presentations and presenting them to various local and remote audiences
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent understanding and experience designing responsive mobile websites/apps
  • Strong UX research experience
  • Strong information architecture experience
  • Solid micro-copy experience
  • Solid visual design and software acumen

Base Pay Range (for Colorado Residents):$61,500 - 129,000
