Staff Accountant

The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Dynamics AX – ERP System and Excel.

The position is responsible for supporting the business through timely and accurate reporting and analysis. The position will support the month-end, annual budget, annual audit, and physical inventory.

Responsibilities

Perform Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties

Authorize ACH payments and make wire transfers

Perform monthly close activities, including preparation of journal entries, maintenance of general ledger accounts, and preparation of account reconciliations.

Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to prepare and maintain complete and accurate monthly financial statements

Prepare annual budget, monthly cash flow forecast, and monthly profit results analyses for management

Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing budgeted costs with actual costs. Perform budget variance analyses. Perform efficiency analysis.

Handle all 1099 requests and filings

Lead and assist annual physical inventory counts

File Canadian GST/HST tax annually

Support executive team on special projects

Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or related field

Excellent proficiency in MS Office applications, primarily Excel.

2 + years’ experience in accounting role

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or other ERP system

Self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to and move with change.
