Primary Purpose:

Provide machines and tools required to support manufacturing and maintain production equipment in top working condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and upgrade new and existing manufacturing equipment along with a wide variety of machines / tooling for improved product quality and reduced manufacturing cost.
• Stay current with industry and technology; seek out advancements in machinery, methods, and process technology.
• Work with Engineering, Production, and Quality Control to solve manufacturing problems, and recommend solutions or enhancements.
• Supervise and direct Tool Makers and Machine Maintenance personnel.
• Document all new machine and tool components, and support Quality System requirements for tool & die control.
• Check all tooling and related equipment for safety and insure that all production equipment is in top working order with all preventative maintenance procedures fully implemented.
• Purchase various pieces of new or used equipment as projects dictate.
• Set-up equipment for short and/or test runs of materials, electrodes, etc.
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• In depth knowledge of tool and machine design practices.
• Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts and procedures.
• Skilled in programming process controllers to achieve desired automatic equipment operation.

Education/Training/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

5 - 8+ years experience in tool and machine development and solving problems in a wide variety of manufacturing disciplines.
