Primary Purpose

Performs supervision of area activities, assignments, and staffing schedules adjusts manpower, generates reports and completes special projects as required to provide and maintain proper service levels. This position reports to a manager or above.

Minimum Specifications Education: 

- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

- Prefer applicant that has successfully completed 30 hours of college.

Experience: 

- Must have six (6) years of progressive responsibility in Radiology, customer service, including knowledge of procedures and workflow in Radiology, staff scheduling experience, quality monitoring, general operational troubleshooting, clerical assistance, front office assistance, education, customer service, etc.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

- May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.

Certification/Registration/Licensure 

- None

Skills or Special Abilities: 

- Must have superior time management skills with demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects and staff scheduling and assignments.

- Must be able to compose correspondence independently.

- Must be able to supervise multiple area at one time

- Must be familiar with the assigned function's operations, policies and procedures.

- Must be able to use sound judgment in making complex decisions.

- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Must be proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software.

- Must show evidence of good computer skills.

- Must have good organizational skills and good people management skills. 

Responsibilities

1. Selects, trains, motivates, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, ensuring compliance with all Parkland policies and procedures, while providing optimal service to both internal and external customers. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.

2. Effectively delegates responsibilities. Responsible for operational practices that deliver effective and efficient services. Collaborates with medical staff and administration to assess operations and evaluate quality. Identifies and analyzes work processes implementing appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity and efficiency and patient access. Provides input as needed for position evaluations.

3. Oversees the scheduling of patient appointments to ensure optimal use of providers¿ time and patient satisfaction.

4. Builds, changes and deletes templates as appropriate for assigned area. Maintains information on department changes and submits to administration as requested.

5. Monitors and tracks staff productivity and quality by auditing call center metrics and employee performance. Works with leadership to promote good quality practices and adherence to operational compliance.

6. Reviews and corrects errors made by staff. Works with management to ensure action is taken to reduce errors in all areas of the department.

7. Assists with special projects and completes other duties as assigned.

8. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, work flows, etc. for assigned areas and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of the department and Parkland.

Job Accountabilities

1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.

2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.

3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
