Overview: Cook RiverWoods Durham is currently looking for a Full Time Cook to support our Healthcare Dining to come and join our team! With hours much different than the typical "restaurant life", this job is ideal for flexibility, work-life balance, and being able to pursue your passion for cooking in a low-stress environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work all production line positions and prepare all menu items according to production sheets and recipes. Our next cook should have a sense of humor, ability to work independently while also being part of a high-energy, fun, and passionate food-driven team. This position is a Monday - Friday role from 7am to 3pm with possible coverage on weekends and holidays here and there.   • Proficient in basic cooking techniques and applications utilizing fresh ingredients to include: saute, grill, fry, roast, bake, and braze
  • Work all production line positions
  • Prepare menu items according to production sheets and recipes
  • Direct timing of food production and plating using a la minute practices to the plate and meal of service
  • Prepare food items as assigned and following HACCP standards
  • Maintain high level of sanitation and complete daily or special cleaning tasks
  • Position includes day and evening hours which may also include weekends and holidays
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; on-job training and/or education in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, hospital, school, country club, retirement community, or similar setting is preferred
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred, but will supply, if needed
