The Surgical Technologist will join an outstanding medical center and play an important role in supporting the clinical and administrative mission of the health system. This 100+ bed medical center has earned a reputation for outstanding patient care and employee engagement. This medical center, is well known for its commitment to advancing community health and working hard to serve the people of Northern Idaho, offers high-acuity Trauma Services, a full range of medical services, and a diverse outpatient clinical network.
Reporting to the Operating Room Nurse Manager, the Surgical Tech will work closely with an outstanding team of Operating Room, Post Anesthesia (PACU), and Recovery Nurses. This Circulator OR Surg Technologist will also work closely with the fantastic surgeons who perform these cases in a department that typically closes by 5pm.
Performing over 1100 procedures per month, this is one of Northern Idaho’s busier Perioperative Service Lines. The OR Surgical Technologist will work with a tenured staff of service leaders and dedicated staff of RNs to keep these 7 Operating Rooms running smoothly. The Perioperative Services Department has cutting-edge technology built in to every suite, so it can offer a full range of surgery procedures, from Neurosurgery to Orthopedics, and Cardiothoracic to Podiatry. This unit has been awarded both locally and nationally for high performing metrics in Cardiovascular Surgery, low infection rates, and outstanding employee engagement.
The OR Surgical Technologist will play an important part in the day-to-day clinical and patient operations of the Surgical Services Department. The Surgical Nurse will take responsibility for patient assessment throughout procedure, along with promoting both direct and indirect care. Working under unit leadership, and in close collaboration with the attending surgeon / physician, the Surg Tech will help formulate a care plan and execute on that plan.
From an operational standpoint, the OR Surgical Technologist will have responsibility to circulate in the operating suites, support the pre and post operation turnaround, and serve as a responsible partner on a large team. This person will get the opportunity to grow their skills through developing efficiency upgrades and operational improvements, and they’ll get to lead projects to execute on those visions.
