Our L.L.Bean warehouses are filled with highly trained employees who attend to daily important tasks that help us get our goods on their way to customers quickly and accurately. Some retrieve inventory or pack goods for shipment, while others process returns or move merchandise with heavy machinery. Whatever the role, these team members work hard, stay mindful of safety and share some fun along the way.

Our pickers, packers, material handlers, monogram operators and our returns processors reps know how to work collaboratively with co-workers all while being dedicated, attentive to detail and focused on serving our customers. 

All of our jobs listed below require the ability to understand, speak, and read basic English along with having a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Exciting opportunities: We are offering weekend only (Saturday & Sunday) shifts in our Returns building for our Merch Prep position.

We are also offering full-time/year-round (benefited) positions in our Order Fulfillment Center for our Pack Monogramming positions.

We are now interviewing and hiring for:

1st shift 6:30AM – 3:30PM

2nd shift 4:00PM – 1:00AM

3rd shift 1:00AM - 6:00AM

*Interview appointments available Monday - Friday between 9am-3:30pm.

Below is the remaining position and physical attributes that pertain to the job:

Pack Seasonal – Scan items out of totes, verify orders, generate outbound shipping documents, and pack orders.

  • Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak and read basic English

  • Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new applications quickly

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Pick Seasonal – Use a hand-held scanner and mobile task device, collect selected units into totes and transfer to conveyor belts.

  • Able to perform basic and repetitive computer functions alone with ability to learn new computer systems

  • Ability to walk entire 8-hour shift, between 6-8 miles, and use a step ladder

  • Bending and reaching; lift and push 30lbs

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English.

Stock Seasonal – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases up to 50 lbs., cut cases with knife, offload and stack cases, transfer U-boats full of cases. Induct cases onto belt using vacuum assist device.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English

  • Able to perform basic and repetitive computer functions alone with ability to learn new computer systems

  • Bend, lift, grab, reach and squat, repeatedly

  • Stand and walk entire 8-hour shift (approx. 9 miles)

  • Lift to 50 lbs. over-head frequently

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Pack Monogramming (Temporary & Year Round positions) – Primary job is to safely operate a computerized monogramming machine used to personalize items for customers. May also be trained in Pack Seasonal job as needed per business conditions.

  • Basic math, measuring skills, and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English

  • Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new application quickly

  • Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Constantly rethread needles, required to wear safety glasses for entire shift

  • Differentiate colors, symbols, and numerals

  • Maneuver totes weighing 20-30 lbs. from conveyance to the working surface on a regular basis

Material Handler Support - Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of empty totes (11 lbs.) and transport totes to workstations. Replenish workstation supplies.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English

  • Able to perform basic computer functions alone

  • Bend, lift, grab, reach and squat, repeatedly

  • Stand and walk entire 8-hour shift (approx. 9 miles)

  • Climb ladders and stairs

  • Push U-boats

  • Carry and lift 30 lbs. to a height of 54”

Material Handler Seasonal – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases, up to 50 lbs. Stack pallets and move workstation replenishment supplies. Ensure flow of work is constant, identify and respond to conveyor jams/work stoppages, and identify problem resolution cases.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English

  • Able to perform basic computer functions alone

  • Bend, lift, grab, reach and squat, repeatedly

  • Stand and walk entire 8-hour shift (approx. 9 miles)

  • Climb ladders and stairs • Pull pallet jack

  • Push U-boats Carry and lift 50 lbs. to a height of 54” over-head frequently

Material Handler Receiving – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases, up to 50 lbs. Unload and induct cases from trailers. Move cases of product, sorting, scanning, and palletizing cases. Ensure flow of work is constant, identify and respond to conveyor jams/work stoppages, and identify problem resolution cases.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English

  • Able to perform basic computer functions alone and learn new systems

  • Bend, lift, grab, reach and squat, repeatedly

  • Stand and walk entire 8-hour shift (approx. 9 miles)

  • Climb ladders and stairs

  • Pull pallet jack and push U-boats

  • Carry and lift 50 lbs. to a height of 78” over-head frequently

Machine Operator Seasonal – Safely and accurately perform various duties on an Order Picker machine including putting away, pulling, and stocking cases, retrieving individual orders, transferring totes to conveyor belts, and other related duties.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to perform basic computer and machine skills alone and learn new systems

  • Comfortable working at heights and in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

  • Multitask, change tasks frequently, strong attention to detail

  • Maximum operator height of 6’4”and minimum operator height of 5’3”

  • Machine harnesses are rated to a maximum operator weight of 400 lbs.

  • Previous experience with machines in a warehouse preferred

  • Full availability preferred

Returns Processing - Read handwritten English or printed text instructions verifying type of return. Navigate through multiple computer systems and screens to process items back to inventory. Ability to quickly assess and determine how best to complete the return is critical.

  • Demonstrate above average computer skills, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new applications quickly

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak and read basic English

  • Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and an eye for quality

  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently

  • Make decisions quickly and independently

Returns Merch Prep (Sat-Sun only) - Inspect merchandise that has been returned and refurbish using processes and techniques to make items ready to put back into inventory. Label merchandise in computer system to indicate resale status or disposal.

  • Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new applications quickly

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak and read basic English

  • Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and an eye for quality

  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently

  • Make decisions quickly and independently
