Primary Purpose

Extends the capacity of internal learning and development experts and resources. Provides input into course design, delivery strategies, and learning measurement. Delivers training/ facilitates workshops using best practice methods and provides relevant feedback, reports, and administrative support for compliance, process improvement, and sustainability.

Minimum Specifications

Education

  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field

Experience

  • Must have 2+ years of experience with responsibilities in learning development full lifecycle (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) of interactive and blended programs and curriculum geared towards individual contributors and frontline leaders.
  • Must have 3 years’ learning delivery experience with small and large groups ranging from individual contributors to frontline leaders: preparing, coordinating, facilitating, and reporting on learning sessions
  • Prefer healthcare industry experience.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

  • Prefer industry recognized certificate for competency in training delivery and/or development (e.g., ATD certification)

Skills or Special Abilities

  • Must demonstrate superior training delivery skills including the usage of relevant technologies, methods, and tools (A/V equipment, LMS tracking, roster management).
  • Must possess superior communication skills both verbally and in writing and be able to communicate with all levels of Parkland staff.
  • Must demonstrate ability to absorb information quickly and apply changes to content with short notice.
  • Must demonstrate strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  1. Actively studies and applies key learning; effectively prepares to facilitate trainings, in-services, and workshops according to instructional design expectations.
  2. Prepares classroom space and all course materials in advance of sessions to promote a positive learning environment; addresses logistical challenges. Creates a welcoming, stress-free environment.
  3. Applies best practices in facilitation and classroom management techniques and ensures that learning objectives are met in the time allotted.
  4. Prepares reports as requested and designed.
  5. Serves as a resource to other educators/ facilitators on process improvement, productivity, learning, operational and technical issues.
  6. Performs administrative duties as needed to manage enrollment, tracking, and reporting on status of training initiative.
  7. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
  8. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the project, department, and Parkland.

  2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
