What we are looking for this role to do:-

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and validate high fidelity prototypes working with the Product Team to achieve user goals
  • Define and maintain User Interface Design Standards which can be integrated across Balance Innovations' family of applications
  • Influence Engineering Teams and Product Managers on how to best meet the needs of users through integration of form and function
  • Apply existing visual design patterns consistently and extend and document emerging patterns
  • Work with front-end developers to maintain a consistent UI component library
  • Conduct visual design quality assurance and user acceptance testing
  • Promote standards and best practices internally and externally
  • Collaborate both internally and externally to understand user requirements
  • Conduct usability research to gather user requirements, analyze/recommend experience design
  • Analyze and translate study results and user needs
  • Create and validate prototypes with the user community
  • Present decisions and alternate solutions based on user research, web analytics, and industry best practices
  • Serve as a User Experience consultant resource within the company
  • Design complex, pixel-perfect interfaces and data visualizations for applications and websites
  • Work collaboratively within a cross functional team using Kanban
  • Work with front-end developers to ensure feasibility of designs
  • Create modular, scalable design patterns
  • Manage vendors as necessary to support user research, usability testing, and visual design
What you need to bring to the table:
  • Firm understanding of user experience design processes and principles
  • 3+ years of experience creating innovative experience across web and mobile interfaces
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design, Human Factors or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience and an advanced proficiency with design tools including Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, Xd)
  • Experience using Rapid Prototyping tools such as Invision, Balsamiq, Sketch, Xd
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stake holders across all levels of the organization, along with clients
  • Ability to execute visual designs of complex transactional interfaces, taxonomies and metadata frameworks
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule own work based on competing demands of clients and team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
  • Passion for building leading edge software solutions using user experience best practices
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with others and a strong eye for detail
