Job Description

Come join our Polk IMPACT Team and supporting students in need! The Polk County IMPACT team services 10 therapeutic classrooms located at 10 different school sites around the district. Each therapeutic classroom is led by an ESE certified teacher, a classroom aide/paraprofessional, and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). IMPACT therapists are assigned two school sites, dividing their time amongst 50/50. A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supports each classroom as well.  The IMPACT team provides intensive academic, behavioral (ABA), and mental-health interventions with the goal to transition students to the least restrictive environment with significant success in the acquisition of new skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with youth who have had exposure to aversive childhood experience
  • Administering therapeutic interventions and the following modalities: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Seeking Safety in individual, family, and group settings
  • Collaborating with families, school staff and administrators to ensure youth’s success
  • Complete and maintain session notes, monthly progress reports, as well as treatment planning
  • Ensure all services are performed in accordance with state laws and regulations
  • Supporting the team in crisis management and de-escalation
  • Attending Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to offer insight to student progress

Requirements:
  • Current FL Department of Health Licensure in a related mental health field
  • Experience working in the school setting, with child and adolescent populations is preferred
