Job Description

The Vertical Marketing Manager will combine an understanding of marketing in specific vertical industries with knowledge of the market conditions and competitive landscape. Working closely with sales, product and various marketing functions, the role will develop an integrated and scalable program mix that takes an account-first approach and is optimized to performance across different marketing channels. Vertical industries span across retail, travel, financial services, healthcare, restaurants, CPG, etc. This role will be responsible for healthcare marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep expertise on what’s now and what’s next across the market landscape for your vertical(s), and how our offerings align to these trends
  • Define key buyer personas and market segments, accounting for how they buy and the customer lifecycle
  • Develop vertical positioning, value prop and key benefits that differentiate our solutions in the market
  • Develop compelling sales enablement materials and nurture ongoing sales knowledge transfer across buying stages, including pitch materials, case studies, guides, one-sheets, blog posts, web content, videos and more
  • Drive integrated marketing planning process in close collaboration with product, sales and other marketing disciplines including Product Marketing, Web, Demand Gen, Content, PR, Marketing Operations and Creative
  • Nurture accountability by establishing meaningful, realistic goals and KPIs mapped to business outcomes
  • Own Account Based Marketing programs tailored to key accounts shared across sales and product teams, driving account research and planning, messaging strategy and cross-team alignment
  • Manage and deliver the marketing performance narrative for the vertical with continuous assessment of what’s working and not working to optimize performance
  • Evolve the presence of the verticals on our website
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking, gain customer feedback and gather competitive insights
  • Embrace agile marketing operational rigor across the planning process, accounting for delivery cycles, dependencies, capacity and prioritization

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university preferred
  • 5+ years of Vertical Industry, Portfolio and/or Product Marketing experience, ideally with fast-moving marketing services, enterprise SaaS companies or advertising technology
  • Ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into clear benefits
  • Demonstrated success in creating compelling messaging, positioning, market/competitive analysis, managing product/program launches and end-to-end execution within a large matrixed organization
  • Familiarity with best practice Portfolio / Product Marketing methodologies and frameworks such as Forrester SiriusDecisions, Pragmatic Institute, Product Marketing Alliance, and/or Gartner CEB; Certifications a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with and present to all levels and functions of the organization
  • An entrepreneurial attitude with start-up mentality and the ability to be flexible
  • High degree of professionalism and demonstrated history of building relationships with various levels across an organization
  • Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with a strong ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits
  • The ability to proactively collaborate with remote contributors and stakeholders efficiently and effectively
  • Creative, resourceful, results-oriented and collaborative team player
  • Highly organized with good follow through capabilities
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Workfront, Salesforce, or ABM platform experience beneficial
