Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society in partnership with Dog Adoption & Welfare Group is seeking a veterinary assistant to work at our animal shelter in Buellton, CA. SYVHS/DAWG is a small, privately funded shelter that offers low cost surgeries and vaccines to the public along with caring for our adoption animals. Our goal is to offer high quality care for both owned pets and those seeking new homes. As Veterinary Assistants we are responsible for customer service, data entry, vaccinations of public animals, assisting the veterinarians to maintain the health of all shelter and public animals. You will be assisting the clinic team with surgical and dental procedures. We provide the highest quality of care for animals in areas including spay/neuter and dental procedures including pre-operative blood work, intravenous fluids, blood pressure and pulse oximeter monitoring along with safe heat support.

The ideal candidate has paid or volunteer experience in a shelter, or veterinary hospital and enjoys performing a variety of duties in a busy work environment. We are seeking an experienced veterinary assistant that wants to practice high quality and compassionate medicine. The ideal candidate should possess good communication skills, a strong work ethic and is able to multitask. Pay will be determined based on experience.
