Job Description
PPK is seeking a video editor to join our in-house post-production team. The video editor will play a key role in producing a wide variety of live action and motion graphic video content for broadcast, social and digital use. In addition, the video editor will work alongside creative team members in the development and post-production process of video content.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You’re a storyteller at your core and masterfully edit a wide range of content including videos for TV broadcast, social media, sizzle reels, product videos, long and short form narrative, etc.
- You are a team player with a positive attitude who is collaborative and welcomes feedback.
- You take initiative, are a proactive thinker, and provide creative solutions.
- You’re fast and efficient. Tight timelines don’t stress you out, in fact you thrive on them.
- You are organized and have excellent attention to detail.
- Edit footage according to scripts, storyboards or guidance from supervising editors or the creative director, from finished script to final product.
- Provide various formats of deliverables for broadcast, web, social media, and other departmental needs.
- Maintain proactive communication with Creative team and Account Managers to assure client needs are being met in a timely manner while maintaining expected quality.
- Broadcast quality coloring capabilities using DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Lumetri workflow.
- Address all agency and/or client changes throughout the approval process
- Deliver final product to the required specifications.
- Ability to recognize, troubleshoot and solve technical problems independently.
- Help maintain a shared media storage and asset management environment.
- Maintain proper file structure and approach allowing for future edits/adaptations.
- Own any other duties/responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of previous video editorial experience at an agency, studio, network or post production facility with a demonstrated experience of video editing and proven storytelling ability.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition).
- Knowledge of Avid.
- Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve Studio.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively. Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Ability to manage and organize media, footage and projects.
- Ability to work independently.
- Competence and understanding of post-production processes, including, editing, color grading, compositing and encoding/compression, among others.
- Proficient with Window and Mac computers and media management.
- An on-trend aesthetic, technical skill and knowledge of current media trends.
** Must be able to pass a drug screening.
