Job Description

The Channel Company is seeking a high-energy editor to create and produce video content for CRN.com and its related media properties.



The Multimedia Journalist is responsible for reporting, filming and editing multiple daily video news stories for our core audience of businesses that sell technology.This role can be remote based in any state we are licensed to do business



The successful candidate will be a journalist who can tell good stories using video as the medium, with a strong understanding of editorial standards and a nose for news. This editor will need to be comfortable in front of the camera (in the studio and in the field) as well as behind the camera -- editing and producing videos and video graphics autonomously -- but should fundamentally be a journalist at heart. This editor will also be asked to edit and produce stories based on footage provided by other staff reporters. In addition, this individual will be responsible for independently developing and following a video production schedule. The Channel Company's media properties are the premier destination for authoritative content about all facets of the IT channel. Responsibilities include:

  • Editing, producing and publishing multiple daily video news stories and newscasts
  • Conducting and filming on-camera interviews with industry executives both in the studio and in the field, including coverage of technology conferences and events.
  • Writing summary articles for each video to appear on our media sites


Job Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience reporting, editing and producing video news stories
  • BA required in journalism, communications or related subjects
  • Top-level reporting and on-camera interviewing skills
  • Proficient video editing skills with an eye for creativity
  • Expertise with Adobe Premier or equivalent editing software
  • Familiarity with BrightCove video publishing a plus
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced newsroom with tight deadlines
