The Warehouse Supervisor Trainee will develop and demonstrate the skills, knowledge and attitude required to know and grow the business by working with Warehouse management team. This individual will develop a daily routine that will help them manage their time effectively, while getting crucial tasks done in a timely manner.  The Warehouse Supervisor Trainee is directly responsible for leading warehouse staff, ensures that Warehouse operations run smoothly, and is responsible for ensuring the completion of all opening and closing procedures. This key leadership role supports the Great Lakes Coca-Cola Management team in driving daily execution and performance while building consumer loyalty to Great Lakes Coca-Cola through a focus on excellent customer service.

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor Trainee role is a position designed to prepare an employee to perform a higher-level supervisory role, such as Warehouse Supervisor. The Warehouse Supervisor Trainee performs work as directed in order to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management skills training, and also learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., labor OPEX budget, OTIF, BD&L).

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Work effectively with Warehouse and Distribution Center teams to lead warehouse employees and dock activities through assigning, directing and following up of all work activities.
  • Effectively communicate information directly to employees.
  • Partner with Warehouse Management to deliver performance management, coaching and discipline to employees.
  • Assist internal departments with their questions, opportunities and concerns.
  • Adherence and management of safety culture, programs & initiatives.
  • Help with live load process, and help ensure all loads get loaded in a timely manner.
  • Manage miss-sorts and miss-loads ensuring customers get correct product.
  • Schedule daily walk-through of the warehouse and conduct a GEMBA audit.
  • Prepare and distribute reports and records (e.g.  end of shift report, employees’ monthly and daily efficiency, picker observation).
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • College degree preferred
  • Forklift Certified a plus

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of previous shipping, receiving or inventory control experience in a warehouse environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Deductive reasoning ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented environment
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to get results through directing others.
  • Excellent communications skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office applications).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including early morning, overnight and weekend shifts and overtime as needed.
