Job Description

Gardena Convalescent Center is searching for a part-time Activities Assistant who will be providing scheduled activities for our residents, mostly in a group setting. Must be a CNA

Hours are from 8:30 thru 4:30pm on weekend Saturday and Sunday. There may be additional hours available for special events.

We are looking for an individual who is caring, excited and self motivated without supervision. Orientation will be provided. Some activities experience is desired.

Skills / Requirements

Must be a CNA.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public. Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel. Must have patience, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on their highest practical functioning level. Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activity programs. Must have a sincere desire to work with the aged. Must have some understanding of the social, psychological, and recreational needs of the aged. Should have aptitude and some training in arts and crafts.

Pay: Compensation varies based on experience.
