Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for a dynamic Business Analyst interested in developing and growing their federal financial management career by supporting day-to-day operations of overseas (RMFS) and domestic (GFMS) Momentum-based financial management systems and business processes in Charleston, SC. The Business Analyst will interact with end-users, and key personnel from Systems, Business and Accounting organizations on a daily basis to analyze issues arising from operations. The Business Analyst will have the opportunity to learn and develop global financial management skills and expertise as they triage, identify solutions, test and implement resolutions to assigned issues. As a member of a robust cross-functional team, the Business Analyst will often be required to work collaboratively in an agile setting, as well as independently on issues assigned to them. Federal accounting experience, strong analytical and problem solving skills, exceptional communication skills, and usage of CGI's Momentum ERP system are highly desired. The Business Analyst will be required to write detailed communications to convey issues, findings and recommended solutions to the client. In addition, the Business Analyst will be required to support the development and execution of test plans for new functionality, configurations, business/operation changes, and software releases. The position is in Charleston, SC, and hours are typically 0800-1700 EST.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Work directly with the client team on often complex software and data issues within their federal financial management system
• Research and devise solutions to known systems issues, to include, recommended cleanup steps for data issues and functional analysis of software issues
• Develop, modify and execute SQL queries
• Work within an agile team, which includes developers or technical staff to test and advance approved solutions
• Construct well-written solution communications that are concise and accurate for delivery to the client
• Recommend ways to optimize the functionality of software
• Identify means to streamline and/or automate business processes
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• An interim Secret clearance is required to begin working onsite with our client, and a Secret clearance must be maintained throughout the project duration. Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
• Sufficient knowledge of SQL to be able to determine the appropriate query to run (or create) in a given circumstance, and to modify existing queries when an existing one does not exist.
• Momentum ERP experience or related ERP experience
• Ability to conduct deep analysis of software, data, and technical issues
• Microsoft Office proficient
Desired Qualifications:
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/Accounting Education Background is a plus
• Experience working in an agile framework and tools
• Experience with software development lifecycle
