POSITION SUMMARY

The Legal & Social Responsibility division of Alterra Mountain company seeks an enthusiastic Senior Paralegal and experienced Contracts Manager for its fast-paced Legal Services Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

General Responsibilities

Legal Review

  • Draft and review contracts for an operating company, including lease, sponsorship, event, service-level and non-disclosure agreements
  • Draft sweepstakes and contest rules
  • Manage trademark portfolio, including coordination of new registrations and renewals with external counsel and key business stakeholder and preparation of cease-and-desist letters
  • Participate as a key team member involved in special projects, including M&A due diligence, debt restructures, and other Legal & Social Responsibility- led projects.
  • Prepare applications and organize supporting documentation for U.S. and Canadian temporary worker immigration work permits
  • Preparation of insurance and risk management reports, as required

Contract Management

  • Lead the management, organization, and maintenance of enterprise-wide contract management system including a contract compliance calendar, with support from contracts & compliance administrator
  • Lead employee engagement on contract management and compliance, including oversight of employee training, with support from contracts & compliance administrator
  • Oversee the management, organization, and maintenance of paper and electronic document library, with support from contracts & compliance administrator

Corporate Governance

  • Assist with corporate governance, including preparation on resolutions, consents, resignations, annual filings.
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Expert knowledge of and Advanced experience with contract management software
  • Advanced comprehension of legal concepts with respect to contracts
  • Advanced understanding of trademark registration process
  • Intermediate knowledge of corporate governance in both Canada and U.S.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian temporary workers’ work permit application process
  • Advanced proficiency of MSOffice
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible, proactive and dedicated
  • Excellent communication, organizational and administrative abilities
  • Very detail-oriented with a strong habit of follow-through
  • Self-starter and works well under pressure
  • Positive, energetic attitude towards guests and peers
  • Professional and friendly in both manner and appearance

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Paralegal certificate/diploma
  • 10+ years relevant experience

 

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $85,000 - $128,000 per year
