We're looking for a strategic thinker and strong people leader who can blend business skills and creative problem solving to develop and execute marketing plans that get attention and drive growth for our financial products and services (debit card, line of credit, personal loans, et). You will empower customers through our Fintech startup focused on providing financially vulnerable and coping consumers access to innovative financial services. Financially backed by one of the largest alternative financial services providers in the Americas, this startup is well-positioned to disrupt the US financial services industry for the underserved. The company is currently in pre-launch and is expected to enter the market early-2022.

As Director of Marketing Strategy - Financial Services, you'll be responsible for ensuring our brand attracts clients and grows leveraging a full spectrum of marketing strategies and tactics. In this dedicated role, you'll drive the vision and strategy for marketing plans and innovation for our banking and financial products. You'll manage a sizeable budget and work closely with our product and operations teams in addition to leading a cross-functional team of marketers. To excel in this role you must like the challenge of figuring things out and be committed to rapid testing, learning and improvement. You must work well independently and be able to influence and collaborate across teams. This position requires a leader who has a learning mindset, is fluent in marketing best practices, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to our Vice President of Advertising and Brand Promotion and will work closely with our Chief Marketing Officer, Vice President of Financial Services and the Chief Financial Services Officer as well as an extended team of senior leaders and other partners.

Day to day, you'll...

  • Develop, execute, and evolve marketing plans to drive client acquisition, bolster retention and generate incremental revenue for our financial services portfolio (banking, payments, lending).
  • Analyze and leverage data to enhance product offerings, inform brand strategy and identify new opportunities for growth
  • Drive experimentation and learning for routine optimization and improvement of strategies and tactics
  • Understand and respond to the needs of consumers, shareholders and the business
  • Inspire and lead a cross-functional team, nurture relationships with internal business partners and align all toward shared goals.
  • Manage a multi-million-dollar budget and timelines.
  • Analyze business and industry trends.
  • Exercise decision-making and report on resource allocation
  • Take risks and bounce back from failures.
  • Collaborate with our in-house creative, media and client experience teams and agency partners.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations and recommendations.

  • Industry knowledge - deep expertise in financial services or fintech: banking, lending or payments


What you'll bring to the team...

  • 10 years of leadership experience including strategy consulting or agency management
  • Ability to translate business strategy into marketing strategy
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
