UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Financial Analyst - Retail to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provide analytical support and forecasting to the senior members of the Retail team. Responsible for preparation of the Company’s annual commercial property budgets, including the monthly reforecast process, and variance analysis for significant revenue and expense categories, for the company’s roughly fifty commercial properties.

Assist with the daily activities of the retail operations department in accordance with organization policies and standards. Additional duties include assisting with renewals, documentation, reporting, and CAM reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Prepare, manage, maintain, and update revenue, expense, and leasing forecasts for the company’s commercial portfolio within Yardi and Excel.
2. Prepare and provide analyses of commercial forecasts as directed.
3. Prepare and provide monthly financial report package, summarizing operating performance and key metrics for the commercial portfolio, including variance vs. budget analysis and explanations.
4. Prepare and maintain various commercial portfolio reporting.
5. Responsible for analysis and tracking of pending deals, tenant buyouts, and/or early terminations as necessary.
6. Provide due diligence and underwriting on the commercial portion of potential acquisitions, developments, and dispositions.
7. Coordinate with third party managers to ensure common area maintenance (“CAM”) reconciliations are completed on time, reviewed for accuracy, billed, and collected.
8. Provide ad-hoc analytical and leasing support to Retail team as necessary.
9. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, fiscal management, and office management techniques. Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, processes, and techniques. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve company issues. Follows established policies and procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to think conceptually and translate concepts into practical applications solutions and decisions. Ability to demonstrate and execute practical and effective solutions to problems. Must have a strong work ethic, integrity, and good business acumen. Ability to analyze data and recommend strategy. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and statistics.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, federal, state, and local laws, and organizational standards. Identifies and reports potential risk areas and supports the problem resolution. Ability to travel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management or team members. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and office management techniques with strong skills regarding spreadsheets, word processing and database applications. Strong experience and demonstrated aptitude with MS Excel. Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive data input and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the Job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work. Ability to travel, when applicable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
2. A clear understanding of basic financial, statistical, and accounting concepts.
3. Minimum of one to two years’ relevant work experience preferred.
4. Prior FP&A experience is a plus.
5. Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
6. Experience with Yardi Advanced Budgeting and Forecasting is a plus.
7. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license unless otherwise noted.

Salary Range:
• $60,000.00/yr. (minimum) - $70,000.00/yr. (maximum), depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
• Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance more
