Job Description

The Sr Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing expense variances and preparing insightful variance explanations with regards to month-end, quarter-end, forecast and plan deliverables. This role supports FP&A management and external reporting for the segment and enterprise leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop concise variance analysis (e.g., actual results, plan, forecast) for Expenses at the segment, business unit, and entity levels
  • Prepare and assist the team with management packages on a monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc basis for the Global Housing segment
  • Perform analytical assignments of a complex nature
  • Identify and explain trends, variance drivers, and key performance indicators
  • Work closely with the Business and Enterprise Finance teams to enhance the reporting processes, and recommend and implement procedures to resolve data quality issues and ensure consistency across systems

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of financial variance analysis, internal controls
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to more complex problems and issues
  • Advanced and sophisticated analytical techniques 
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze financial data, prepare financial reports and statements, using an advanced level of Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to work under tight timelines

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required – Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Finance/Accounting; experience in Insurance is a plus
