Job Description

Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer will create and manage digital and print designs. This role will manage all graphic design tasks, refine projects and drafts, and generate creative ideas. Navigate graphics portal, process and separating of artwork files, printing of color keys, prints and plate making when needed.  Will work with proof press, production, and commercial teams.

Job Duties:

  • Design graphic content, illustrations, and infographics.
  • Manage graphic designs from conception to delivery.
  • Generate fresh concepts and implement efficient processes.
  • Understand customer requirements and ensure brand consistency throughout various projects.
  • Liaising between the graphics department and customers to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain technical competency by staying up to date with industry developments and tools.
  • Ensures assignments meet established standards and deadlines.
  • Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.
  • Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • A Graphic Design credential or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with proven work experience as a Senior Designer, Graphic Designer or similar role.
  • Working experience with image design tools (e.g. Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator).
  • Demonstrates and promotes strong knowledge of plate setters, digital color proofing systems, scanning devices, digital equipment, and conventional pre-press systems and technology.
  • Expert knowledge of Mac and PC platforms; pre-flighting, imposing, trapping and outputting of electronically prepared input; plate setters.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates proficiency with typesetting, color matching and correction, image manipulation and font management.
  • Demonstrates complete understanding ability for pre-flighting, imposing, trapping and outputting of electronically prepared input from customers.
  • A portfolio of design projects is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.

Work Environment:

The Graphic Designer will perform most job duties sitting at a desk working on a computer with specialized software. This position will use other communication tools such as a telephone, printer/fax machine and e-mail. This role will spend time on the manufacturing floor where moving mechanical parts produce noise
