Primary PurposeParkland Community Health Plan's (PCHP's) Graphic Designer works in the Marketing and Communications department. This person combines insight and creativity to develop design-driven solutions for marketing materials, publications, digital elements, collateral materials, advertisements and more for both internal and external audiences. This person will use graphic design and creative skills to help promote the visibility, brand consistency, and recognition of Parkland Community Health Plan in a positive way through application of our branding, related graphics standards, and content. Minimum SpecificationsEducation- Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, or a related field.Experience- 5-7 years experience in graphic design as it relates to both print and digital mediums - developing, designing, and creating marketing materials and advertising.- Experience with the print production process ¿ from sourcing bids through to the finished product.Equivalent Education and/or Experience- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.Skills or Special Abilities- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite ¿ including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.- Knowledge of HTML/CSS with a proven ability to design and code emails and/or website pages.- Demonstrated ability to successfully translate brand visualization into marketing and advertising materials.- Must be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of graphic-design equipment, tools, and techniques.- Ability to design materials with a keen eye for aesthetics and a high level of attention to detail.- Ability to understand marketing/creative briefs and translate them into visual solutions.- Ability to present concepts to larger marketing team or other departments within the organization and clearly communicate reasoning behind design choices and how it relates to the creative brief.- Ability to meet deadlines and pivot priorities based on conflicting priorities.- Ability to understand research and/or data as it relates to creative design and how to best design for different audiences.- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and PowerPoint.Responsibilities- Understands the goals/objectives outlined in creative briefs and how to visually execute on them in the development of various projects.- Develops materials that maintain a consistent brand standard for the PCHP brand among different audience groups.- Concept ideas for major projects and pitch design concept to product owners to gain buy-in.- Works with communications specialist in the development of materials and producing content.- Take feedback and/or research data and understand how to leverage it to change and/or enhance materials.- Develops brand standards guidelines to establish a consistent brand and execute creative against them.- Sources relevant creative needs beyond department expertise photographer, videographer, illustrator, etc. for specific projects as needed.- Acts as liaison with external vendors related to publications and collateral material, such as printers or advertising mediums. Prepare material for press electronically to ensure printers receive the appropriate materials and specifications needed to produce the desired results. Ensure projects stay within budget.- Works with external agency partners as needed to develop and execute projects, providing creative direction and/or feedback on materials.- Serves as a brand steward as it relates to visual materials and communication.- Coordinates, organizes, and maintains graphic library, including all current and past graphic design projects, collateral, photography, and art.- Participates in brainstorms and identify opportunities to improve work processes and increase interdepartmental satisfaction.- Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and PCHP.Job Accountabilities- Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.- Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and customer requirements. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
