Logistics & Operations Manager:

Scope:

My client is a very fast-paced, growing company seeking a highly knowledgeable and motivated individual to be located at a 3PL site located in Laredo, TX. This individual will be our eyes and ears on the warehouse floor while overseeing daily operations of our business. His/her focus and priority is to make sure that our business is being handled appropriately by 3PL personnel which includes proper labeling of cartons and pallets on outbound product, loading the correct product on trailers, ensuring that the correct paperwork is provided to drivers, avoiding transportation charge backs, etc.

You will also be responsible for monitoring inbound freight: coordinating reworks of damaged product, addressing and reporting all discrepancies, monitoring inventory as a whole, etc. You will work directly with a team of people who will physically handle our product and you will be responsible for ensuring that processes are being followed. You will need to monitor where our inventory is located on-site and ensure that the space dedicated to our product is not being utilized by another customer.

You will be responsible for determining and reporting if and when we will need additional warehouse space based on order commitments and inbound freight. You will have a direct impact on the growth of our business and the need to expand from that growth.

Job Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of logistics including, but not limited to:

• Shipping:
  • Understand each retail customer’s shipping & labeling requirements and report changes to Corporate Office
  • Confirm orders in retail transportation sites and monitor routing information
  • Build carrier loads in web-based application based on routing information provided by retailers
  • Generate and print shipping documents (BOLs), shipping labels, pallet labels, etc.
  • Schedule and monitor carrier pick-up appointments, no-shows, reschedules, etc.
  • Monitor & maintain carrier pick-up schedule kept on Teams
  • Document shipping issues that occur with carriers or equipment, which may include taking photos
  • Submit carrier issues to retailer transportation sites (also referred to as “tickets”)
  • Upload all signed shipping documents to Teams in real time
  • Process ASNs in an EDI web-based application once loads have shipped
  • Process & ship all consumer product replacements; maintain data on a spreadsheet and evaluate & report trends (I.E.: broken zippers, ripped seams, defective foam (never recovered, large holes, etc., odor, etc.)
• Receiving & Inventory Control:
  • Perform quality checks on inbound inventory; document any discrepancies or damages on the inbound paperwork
  • Maintain an inventory spreadsheet containing product in both warehouses and distribute accordingly
  • Identify potential inventory failures based on open orders & inbound product in real time
  • Perform inventory counts, scheduled & unscheduled as needed, and report results
  • Maintain product returns based on new or used status (most returns are shipments that were never released to the recipient by FedEx or UPS and can be put back into inventory); ensure that used product is logged & disposed of properly

    • Your secondary location is Deschamps Forwarding (3PL), Laredo, TX (as needed)

Job Qualifications:

• 5 – 7 years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in a 3PL
• Must be computer & internet savvy and proficient in MS Office programs
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is required
• Must be very organized, detail oriented and hands-on
• Must be able to communicate clearly and efficiently and provide clear direction
• Must have a valid U.S. Passport
• Regular travel to Mexico
• A very reliable, insured vehicle
