Summary

Development Manager is responsible for the architect solutions, design, development, testing, and maintenance of software modules, and people management within the Auto Delivery team.

The position’s purpose includes, but is not limited to: 

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Developers and provide technical direction and quality
• Manage seamless delivery and architecture of Auto projects across multiple Client accounts
• Create/Evaluate Delivery quality
• Proactively work to improve delivery quality, repeatability and on-time delivery of key projects as part of both project work and/or strategic company initiatives
• Efficiently and effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical internal team members as well as third party client stakeholders
• As needed, gather requirements and analyze, understand and translate those requirements into technical specifications
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to design recommendations where necessary
• Participate in code reviews and acceptance process in order to improve methodology and delivery
• Perform and manage development in a high volume, multi-tiered, transactional environment.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or relative job experience.
• Must have 9+ years of total IT experience out of which minimum 2 years of team leading experience
• Must have worked with globally distributed teams
• Excellent skills and hands on experience with ETL.
• Excellent skills in Oracle database, SQL and PL/SQL programming
• Proficiency in Unix Shell scripting
• Marketing Databases with deep knowledge of Oracle, relational and multi-dimensional database design and database management
• Must be able to discuss technical aspects of architecture /design / code issues directly with technical teams
• The ability to display strong problem solving skills and perform under pressure is required
• Must have experience with people management (i.e. appraisals, goal setting, coaching) of developers. A strong desire to teach and mentor junior and mid-level developers and direct growth and goals of individual team members is essential.
• Strong communication skills as well as a dedicated work ethic is a must
• Must have end-to-end implementation experience of Database projects

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Webservices (REST, SOAP) is a plus.
• Experience in web application coding is good to have.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies good to have.
