Position Summary
The Manager Digital Marketing oversees a cross functional team of marketing coordinators, marketing strategists and senior marketing strategists in charge of pay-per-click ad campaigns that drive sales on various e-commerce sites. This role ensures the successful execution of campaigns for clients, which includes assigning duties and overseeing the quality of work performed by direct reports.
This role requires a strong understanding of paid search and performance marketing to effectively drive day-to-day tactical execution of the campaigns and continually exceed client expectations. To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to identify performance expectations, give constructive feedback, and present thought leadership to identify growth opportunities across the business.

 

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Team Management

o Oversee a team of Digital Marketing Coordinators, Digital Marketing Strategists and Senior Digital Marketing Strategists
o Appropriately delegate to maintain a reasonable and balanced workload for all direct reports
o Determine the appropriate time to bring on new team members, conduct the interview process, and maintain responsibility for hiring and corrective actions when necessary
o Identify performance expectations, give timely and constructive feedback, and conduct formal performance appraisals and goals sessions for direct reports
o Participate and lead team, department and agency training sessions
o Help inform and prioritize our service offerings by regularly collecting feedback and providing input on how to improve our business strategies


Campaign Management

o Ensure the campaign management team is delivering the desired outcome for our clients and that each client’s satisfaction is maintained
o Support direct reports in troubleshooting issues that arise with campaign execution
o Communicate at risk campaigns or client situations to manager and appropriate stakeholders
o Manage and continually improve reporting for all campaigns
o Provide strategic direction on client calls
o Proactively identify growth opportunities within existing clients for additional partnerships and service offerings
o Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with retailer and vendor partner managers

 

New Technology Implementation

o Work with Manager(s) to develop and plan strategies for testing new technology prior to full-team rollouts, including reporting out on performance and evaluating potential obstacles around implementation (process and financial)
o Lead operational training initiatives to introduce new technology to wider team, including post implementation quality assurance, troubleshooting and optimization management
o Help provide strategy and direction for the technology and reporting efforts that should be implemented by team to improve performance

 

Process

o Maintain and develop best practices for running a team of paid search experts
o Partner and collaborate with other teams and agencies to identify areas for process improvement, centered around delivering client value and success

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports
- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements
- Travel is not an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is an essential duty or function of this job.
- Travel up to 20 %

 

 

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

 

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

 

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Digital Marketing, eCommerce or related field, preferably in an Agency environment and with prior management experience

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
